Hello,
I'm Anthony Ferrentino, a senior communication studies major here at Bloomsburg University. For my first blog post about my current summer internship I'm going to talk a little about what I have been working on for the past three weeks.
My internship is with the Marketing and communication department at Bloomsburg University. I spend most of my day working on a computer in the Waller Administration Building, but sometimes I have special assignments in which I have to go elsewhere on campus or into town. One of the first assignments I was given was to create a press release for a summer camp that the university is hosting. I also created two more press releases with the next two weeks; one of which is for the Virginia Woolf conference on campus and the other is for the official dedication of the Greenly center. Speaking of Virginia Woolf and the Greenly Center, I was also in charge of creating pitches to persuade the local media into covering the different events I was promoting. I also was tasked with traveling to the gallery in the Greenly Center and taking pictures to go with the articles that I had written. I found this to be quite cool as I almost felt like a photojournalist. Other than that, I have just been working with different aspects of the schools social media. I write blogs, recommend books and movies and monitor things like Pintrest in my down times before stories.
I'm looking forward to more stories to come.
It's pretty neat that you're interning on campus! It sounds like you're getting some good experience writing press releases also. I can't wait to see what other sort of things you get to do for campus!
